First time home seller…?

I am a first time home seller, and wanted to get opinions on what should be my first step. Would it be getting an appraisal, or Finding A Realtor? Would a realtor take care of any appraisals? We want to relocated (currently living in Roanoke, VA) but not if we would lose a lot of money on the house since we only bought 19 months ago. Thanks!

Get your agent first, maybe the one you bought from.

Appraisals are handled by the buyer, it would be a waste of money to get one now.

Your agent can give you a comp report, giving you a pretty close idea of what the property will appraise for.

To not be shocked if it appraises for less then you paid for it.
