Selling Your Chicago Home Speedily

Nowadays, cautious homebuyers, strict lending requirements and current market conditions have slowed the pace of home sales considerably. It sounds simple, but a messy home is an undesirable home. And no potential homebuyer will find it easy to visualize him- or herself in a home still cluttered with someone else’s mess. This is why, even if you have cleaned the home yourself, you should consider hiring a cleaning crew to entirely scour every surface so that nothing is left neglected. Even the garage and attic should be thoroughly cleaned as you know potential buyers are going to want to see every square foot of your home during a showing.  

Even if you have yet to move out of your Chicago home, you may consider renting storage space to keep most of your clothes and personal belongings out of your house while it is up for sale. Buyers want to see empty, clean space so they can envision themselves starting a life in that house or condo.

Invite several agents to tour your Chicago home and ask them to provide you with a comparative market analysis, a marketing plan for selling your place and suggested price. Research each real estate brokerage thoroughly so you feel comfortable that you have found the one most likely to sell your particular property.  
Finally, when you receive an offer on your Chicago house or condo, try to be flexible about the selling conditions. Many buyers are having trouble getting financing these days so you might be better off to accept a cash offer. Even if it is less than an another offer that is dependent on mortgage approval, especially if it seems to be taking a long time to move forward. If the first offer you get is sound, do not hesitate too long before accepting it—oftentimes the first offer is the best.
